I agree, but I think I can tell you what the "problem" is.

The fans see weaknesses in this team that are glaring, and painful to watch. If you're a fan, "frightening" isn't too strong a word to use.

Offensive rebounding: the Hokies have five offensive rebounds in the last two games ... FIVE. And two of those are "team" rebounds, not even "real" offensive rebounds where a Hokie player controls the ball.

VT has been outrebounded on the offensive glass 31-5 in the last two games. BC and UNC combined to take 39 more shots than the Hokies in a two-game stretch.

3-point defense: In the last four games, Hokie opponents have made 45 three-point field goals and are 45-100 .... 45% ... from three-point range. Steve Vasturia of Notre Dame (5 games ago) went 3-4 to help give ND a huge win in Cassell that put the Hokies -1 on home/road split. Quinton Stephens of GT was 5-10. Three Clemson players shot over 50%, combining to go 11-18. Carolina made 14 three-pointers. Jordan Chatman of BC started 9-9 before finally missing two.

Yes, VT is 16-5 and 5-4 in the ACC. But they are getting annihilated on the offensive glass and from the outside. It's like winning a football game 47-45 where the other team rushed for 300 yards. You're glad you won, but geez, it was frustrating to watch, because you got completely manhandled in a key facet of the game, and you KNOW it's going to cost you games later if you keep it up (reference the 2002 Hokie football team).

VT shot 59.1% from the field last night. That's awesome. They shot 12-18 from three-point range. That's INCREDIBLE! But I didn't even realize it because the lack of offensive rebounds and watching Chatman hit 9 straight was so gut-wrenching.

Contrast that -- random examples -- with this year's Duke game or last year's Miami home game. Both games were wins and a lot of fun to watch. This team is winning at a good clip, but a lot of the games aren't "fun" to watch.

This isn't intended to be a bashing session, just pointing out what fans are feeling. It's not just about the W's and L's. Games have a feel to them as well.
