The importance of a great qb

Cannot be understated. That's why all along I thought Clemson or Ohio State (before they crapped the bed) had a better shot against Bama than they were being given credit for. Experienced qb's who had proven it on the biggest stage.

Give Hurts credit for making some plays on Bama's go-ahead drive late, but for much of the game he looked like a freshman. All season, he had never really had to go out there and win a game for them, and credit Clemson for slowing down the run game and putting up enough points to make him have to. I do wonder what happens if Bo doesn't get hurt. He is an absolute man.

All this makes me really wish Evans had stayed for his senior year, because I think next year has a chance to be special. I think Jackson and Hooker will be great players for us, but there's a lot to be said for a senior qb with moxie when the game is on the line.

Thankful to have Fuente the qb whisperer on our side. Last night showed that we're not that far off, and I think our time will come. FWIW, go watch Hendon Hooker's highlight reel and tell me he doesn't remind you of Deshaun Watson. We've got some exciting football ahead of us.
