In week 7 VT was ranked 17 (AP) and 19 (Coaches) and ahead of Oklahoma, PSU, Colorado, OSU and USC. Assuming none of those teams would pass VT if VT won out, VT would likely be ranked somewhere around 5-8 in the playoff rankings going into the ACC championship game.
