All of the fans and alumni I interact with on the Interwebs fully understand how poor the team has played this year under Kelly. They expected ND to surrender the 17 point lead, mostly because the defense is suspect and because Kelly refuses to do what is necessary to protect a lead - and his starting QB. Nobody is making excuses. I have certainly heard about the phantom PI call and the no-calls on the targeting plays, but those are legitimate discussion points, and I suspect that many here would agree that those three plays went VT's way.
