Crazy talk. conference champs mean more than playoff!
I'm on the record as not being in favor of the playoffs -- I genuinely believe that a consensus national championship is bad for the sport.
so, take my opinion in light of that.
Winning the ACC shows that we won against teams with comparable academic standards, comparable athletic budgets, similar recruiting footprints and the same rules over transferring, player conduct, number of regular season games and other criteria.
how a team fares in a single elimination playoffs against teams from conferences that play by different rules and have different recruiting territories with different athletic budgets, is not as meaningful as demonstrating that team is the champion of their own conference.
