He made 15 tackles in this game. I think this shows his effort. He may not be in the right place all the time, but I dare say no other player is in the right place all the time.
Rather than looking for times where he is in the wrong place or not putting in the effort you think he should, let's look at the things he is doing well and improving at.
I have replayed the game and I saw numerous tackles he made that were excellent.
