If you work in any public business or profession, and that includes professional sports, you're gonna find your name and your performance being criticized in one form or another. If you don't , then there's Facebook and Twitter where people will likely say things about you in public whether you know it or not.

This is the age we live in today, and football players are no more immune than anyone else in any public profession or sport. In fact they know this and still choose to participate in a VERY public sport. If we don't like it then we either need to ban free speech or ban the internet.
