My positives and negatives of the two-deep roster

Here is my personal take on the first two-deep roster. I have some positives and some negatives from what I see and from my perspective.
Positives: First of all I really like the fact that Colt Pettit has moved up to the first team. Competition breeds excellence and has been a huge problem here at Virginia Tech and is what keeps us from joining the elites of college football. We never seem to have the level of talent to make the starters work for their stripes. Replacing Wyatt Teller may when it is all said and done make Wyatt a much better player. Complacency is such a bad situation and knowing that someone can take your job makes people work much harder and knowing that someone can step up if you don’t will do nothing but benefit us as a program. Also glad to see Braxton Pfaff work his way into the two-deep. Loved the kids high school film and it is good to see him stepping it up. We needed him to. I also really like the fact that Chris Cunningham has earned the trust of the coaches to allow us to focus on Bucky at WR where he is most definitely needed.
Now to the negatives: The Mike backer spot and depth at linebacker and Defensive End really concerns me. I commented on Motu yesterday and don’t want to keep beating a dead horse. Dude just has to step it up or step aside. I’m a bit concerned about the Defensive End position. We still have Seth Dooley listed as a second teamer. This guy reminds me of Nic Acree for he looks like Tarzan but plays like Jane. Looks the part but just hasn’t panned out. Not physical for his size and is just terrible in space. Was hoping that Gaines or Fullwood would work into that spot, which Gaines may have but just isn’t eligible due to suspension. Also in the secondary… Curtis Williams? Either this 5’8 kid whom has very little experience has just completely turned his game around or something is up. Was really surprised by this. Guess Duwayne Johnson and Payne haven’t been living up to their potential. Guess getting back Alexander will hopefully make this a non-issue. But, interesting to say the least. Aslo, Terrell Smith at Offensive Tackle? We must definitely be making athleticism a priority at tackle cause he’s not a very physical linemen in my observations. I also am a bit concerned with Kyle Chung at Second Team Center. I’m sorry but you gotta have dependable player at Center. You must have at least three good ones. I’m sorry, but this kid can’t stay out of the training room. Until he can make it a month without injury I don’t feel good about that situation.
Anyways, just my take on the two deep roster. Those of you that are so politically correct that you are offended by me saying mean things about any of these players. Get a freakin life. This is a forum of discussion. You soft hearted folks are what is wrong with our society. These are grown men and I don’t think any of them are going to cry or lose sleep just cause John doe Hokie said something mean about them. We don’t need no whimpy football fans and if you are a whimpy football fan you need counseling. I’m sure you can find it. Unfortunately, you will have to travel to Charlottesville to get it. Go Hokies!
