Isn't it just a reflection of society? Look at any segment of

society and it is in the same situation.

Transportation? Housing? Clothing? Entertainment? Career? Marriage? Education?

Everyone is always looking for the latest and greatest, or the next big deal, without consideration for the traditional.

New hospitals are built to extravagant measures but do they improve the health care you receive?

New buildings for businesses follow this same method but do they improve the quality of their service?

Schools build luxurious elementary, middle, and high school buildings on the taxpayer dime but do they improve the quality of the education they provide?

Each new building that Virginia Tech builds has more bells and whistles and the latest technology than the last one. Do they actually require these things to provide an education for the students? Does the education increase with the construction of these buildings? After all, isn't that the purpose of VT first and foremost?

We spend millions of dollars upgrading facilities to what end? They are not intended to improve the performance of the teams or the sport in general.

Was it necessary to spend millions of dollars on a new locker room or fancy players lounge? Will these things magically increase the performance of the team?

Why then all of the angst over a couple of thousand dollars worth of uniforms? Just curious.

This is not directed at njhokie06 or hokieinking, just a general statement about the uniform discussion in general.
