That place was a living shrine to Paterno and Sandusky. They were viewed as holy figures. Everywhere you looked was something with either one or the other on it. Then there was the story of the janitor who apparently witnessed Sandusky abusing a child in the locker room before Macquery reported the his incident. What did the janitor do? Kept his mouth shut because he knew he would not only be fired but that Paterno would ruin his life. The PSU football program should of been shutdown for at least four years. It was pretty clear that up until he was arrested Sandusky's go to spot to abuse children was PSU football facilities. People can rant and rave about the wrong doing at UNC and elsewhere, however, nothing and I mean nothing comes close to what evil took place in State College. And a good chunk of their fan base won't learn until the program is shutdown for a good long while.
