Yep, but there has got to be more to the story.

I agree. We certainly can't jump to early conclusions with Fuente; we have to give the man a chance (at least two years) to prove himself in the recruiting arena. You can have the best coach out there, but, if you don't have talent on par with FSU or Clemson, it can still be a rough ride. My concern is that despite all the respect I, and so many others in the media/coaching world, have for Bud Foster, he's really not recruiting nearly at a level one would expect. Shouldn't kids want to play for the "best"? Again, I sincerely hope that I am proven wrong. I just don't see him turning this "aircraft carrier". Like Chris mentioned in his article, Maryland went after proven territorial recruiters to fill their assistant coaching ranks. How they jumped out on the recruiting front is mind boggling; just like I still can't figure out how UNC continues to do so well despite pending sanctions. My guess is that kids like the "it factor" (plus NFL developmental potential). For this reason, problems at TN and UNC simply aren't of concern. Unfortunately, we really need "used car salesmen"with strong coaching abilities. Think Saban and the assistants he brings in. Chris Coleman has been spot-on in his analysis.
