It wasn't a game involving VT, but the ref said "Equipment infraction on the offense." When the color analysts were running the replay to see if they could determine the reason for the penalty, one of them noticed that the QB wasn't wearing his mouth piece and concluded that was the reason for the penalty. I am not sure if the player had to sit out for 1 play or his team had to use a TO to keep him from having to sit out for 1 play.
