I would agree that both have years of data to rely on


and it probably is a boiler plate. The reason I phrase it the way I did is because it is possible that not all fanbases will have the same immediate reaction when first implemented. Also, depending on the time period of the data might be slightly different. Now I am assuming they were making apples-to-apples comparisons before making the decision. Meaning they were looking at the first 5 years the program was implemented to get an idea of what could happen at VT. Instead of looking at Years 11-15 or Years 16-20. Hence why the time period of the data may be important.

I don't doubt they were thorough before implementing this plan. Hence why I am confident about the long-term success. Without looking at the data, I am not sure if any conclusions can be drawn about the first 5 years. It wouldn't surprise me if the data is mixed for Year 1. Some saw a reduction in Year 1 because people were resistant to change. While other programs saw an increased because of how the football team did the final year under the old plan (at least that may have been a bigger factor). Then by Year 3 everyone was seeing enough of an increase to the point where any steps back were a moot point now.
