Agreed. The big mistake, IMHO,.was in not communicating this
You just can't sell new members on a setup and then change it all up a year later. It'd be even more confusing and frustrating than it is now. But there REALLY should have been some communication in the original announcement talking about how there's a Part Two to grow the Hokie Club. Explain just what I wrote about -- that the Hokie Club understands it needs to gain new members, but it needs to have the new program in place before it can properly market it. So it's being rolled out now to current members, and next year a strong push for new members will happen.
Instead, there was nothing. As someone noticed, there wasn't even a button to JOIN NOW on the page until it was brought up a few days later.
I'll be real interested to see what their plan to grow the club is, though. The biggest weapon they have, of course, is current members -- we'll see how well they use us.
