Amen!! You build an organization from the bottom up with as many members giving smaller amounts similar to power of compounding. These folks are going in a the middle and top of the building and will fall down. By there own admission, 4% of folks giving shows little effort prior on previous leadership.
You basically now have scared possible new HC members with this approach. They really don't know Hokies very well. Had they approached us with trying to be the highest percentage or highest amount of giving and challenging all alumni they more than likely would have been more successful.
Most things are only as good as it's weakest link. Ours was in the number of members, that was the fix.
