There is balance...

What I said is I prefer cumulative giving over large annual gifts - in other words, reward those that have given large amounts over time as opposed to the short timer that gives a large annual amount or two to bump up their priority for a year. In the old system, that could happen at certain levels.

As for the cumulative giving, the $3k per year donor would have to donate for over 33 years before they obtain Benefactor status and the priority that comes with it. Does that prove their "commitment"? Until then, they will not surpass any current Benefactor-level Hokies.

What other "balance" can you have under the new system? I get those that are upset about the new requirements, but I'm not sure what else the Hokie Club can do.
