With Reeves Maybin at LB beside Kirkland Jr, and the best corner in the nation in Cam Sutton, Shoop is probably right. Jancek, the previous D coordinator was soft, and rarely ever brought pressure. Look at Shoops defenses with way less talent, his squads are always at the top.
