That is somewhat more than 300,000 Alumni, more than a lot of schools. I think the main issue is that as much as we may love VT, probably most Alumni loose connection and do not contribute anything. No money to athletics, no money to academics, no participation in alumni events. Other recent problems are declining fortunes for the football team and lingering effects of the recession.

Plus, 12 years ago I was paying less and having more fun, at least at the game. Tailgating just keeps getting better!
