Shonda Smart spoke on behalf of some of the parents and said, “Coach Evans took over a program that had a dirty field house and helped clean it up. They tell us it’s a financial reason that got him released but we are being told the program is $2,600 in the clear. Also we are told that he had three years to pay off any outstanding purchases recently made. We parents just don’t understand those statements.” Smart added, “My husband made a donation of around $1,500 for new sleds and now that Evans has been released, we will be getting that check back until we know for sure what’s going on.”
