I read your article and I don't have any problems with the changes


However, a couple thoughts popped into my head. First, since VT waited so long to make this change, it feels like VT is already starting behind the 8-ball. Even though VT has the knowledge gained from Memphis's experience (which I see as a positive), I do wonder if the athletic department is feeling the pressure and has established lofty goals to try to get caught back up as quickly as possible. I don't think the lofty goals are necessarily a bad thing. However, this announcement may come across as a "culture shock" to the existing fanbase so I am not sure what reaction to expect from them. I do wonder if VT will be able to catch up to Clemson or if Clemson has too much of lead already. Also, I wonder if at some point the school and/or the fanbase (particular the younger generations) will start to question whether all of this is worth it in order to compete at the highest athletic level.
