I don't know what type of law enforcement expertise you are trying to flaunt, but possession, consumption and intoxication are all different things. Yes, all can get you into trouble, but they are different.
You don't have to look very hard or long on Google to see multiple examples of how they are different. Though the offenses may fall under the same section, it does not mean they are the same thing. They are separate offenses/charges.
