Seems like many years ago that the Roanoke paper didn't send anyone to Tech basketball games. And whatever Randy King might have covered, he always was writing about driving his car to whereever the story was and leaving the impression to me that the paper wasn't covering much of his expenses.

Living in Knoxville is a completely different story. There is usually a front page sports section headline devoted to some type coverage and the featured columinist's article. Then an entire page inside devoted to olympic sports and women's activites. Plus a couple more articles with an overview towards FB and anotherconcerning recruiting.

Coverage extends from Bristol to Nashville. Then there is the electronic coverage.

Don't know if the school or the media came first in respect to the Vols, but the constrast in coverage is quite diffeerent wrt VT.
