I think it surprised TCU and Buzz both when they DID come to terms. Possibly the ONLY guy who could have gotten that job instead of Buzz, being an alum?

Those are fun details to speculate about. The part where Buzz pursued that job the the fullest extent and ALMOST landed it (probably EXPECTED to land it) ... actually what happened in real life!
