Not even playing devil's advocate - if you read my post originally, I said - the REALITY of it is that anyone trying to project college coaches' job security even 2-3 years out is doing themselves and everyone else a disservice.

Anyone who follows CBB will tell you the same, especially the coaches themselves. Job security does not exist in college basketball. You might be able to count the number of jobs that have any semblance of security in them on one hand.

Shaka Smart is not on that list. To name one.

Just saying - the correct answer is "you never know" like Chris said. And the people in the business (i.e. Buzz) know that better than anyone. I think Rev would agree with me?

And the culture is not trending towards anything but coaches being on even SHORTER leashes every year going forward. SOMEWHAT apples and oranges and he didn't get fired - but Les Miles almost got fired this year! There was serious talk of it!

This is the reality of CBB these days!

Those prize jobs will become available in due time, very unlikely that all of those coaches are going to have long stints ... even if they're all great coaches now, great coaches get fired ALL THE TIME!
