That was part of the deal when we signed him pretty much. Most of us hoped it'd be after 4 years and a sweet sixteen to get us jump started I think.

So the deal is - here's the ONLY thing that Buzz is mulling:

Do I jump on the TCU or Oklahoma State jobs ... ... ... or do I stay another 2 years try to make some noise with this recruiting class and go for the real "prize" jobs which I imagine would be a UT (Austin), Oklahoma, TAMU? etc.

That's the real prize.

And the thing is he can go to Ok St. or TCU right now and still make that jump in a few years. But I think that's always been the goal.

So the question he's asking himself is - do I get to the promised land faster by taking the Va Tech rocket ship I'm constructing, or by taking another leap closer.

He's very conscious of the fact that he could hop somewhere else and it might not go as swimmingly as it has here. By the same token nobody start saying things like "Oh well they just hired Shaka at Texas" etc. - all of that can change in 1 or 2 years VERY easily. If you're not aware of that you haven't been watching college athletics for the past 20 years.

Anyway that's the calculus here. Not family not religion LOL LOL LOL.
