Let's just say we beat FSU and Miami again this week...
Frankly, I think we are a bad match up against FSU because of their height so I am not thrilled that they are our likely Wednesday opponent. But, let's get a little ahead of ourselves and think about the possibilities if we beat FSU and then beat Miami on Thursday.
Currently, FSU is sitting at 69 in the RPI and Miami is at 7. Our RPI went up 24 points by beating Mami on Saturday and we are now sitting at #86.
If we win those two games we will probably gain another 20 - 25 spots and may be knocking on the door of the high 50s of the RPI. Even with a loss against UVa in the ACC semi (RPI #2) my guess is that our ranking will not suffer terribly.
With a 7-1 record down the stretch, would we officially be on the bubble? Would we be a good candidate for a first four invite knowing that CBS/Turner/NCAA never looks past getting ratings whenever possible?
The numbers tell me we are getting very close to the bubble if we get two wins at the Verizon Center.
