This is interesting- first new piece of info I have seen regarding seeding-
From one source on the ACCT:
"Virginia (12-5) still has a shot at the No. 1 seed, but the Cavaliers would have to beat Louisville and hope that both Miami and UNC lose. Virginia would win the tie-breaker in event of a three-way tie for first."
This says that, in the case that VT beats UM on Sat, uva beats UL at uva, and DU beats UNC at DU, then VT faces #1 seed uva after beating CUSE.
- That's the first piece of clarity I have seen where VT does not face UM.
TO SUMMARIZE: If UL beats uva, and UNC beats DU, then UNC is #1 seed. If either uva beats UL at uva (likely) or DU beats unc at DU (likely) , then UM is the #1 seed -IF- UM beats VT. If all above, but VT beats UM, then uva is #1 seed.
So
If VT wins Sat, uva wins Sat, and DU wins Sat, then it is VT v. CUSE on 3/9 at 12 noon, then VT v. uva on 3/10 at 12 pm.
If VT loses on Sat, then it is VT v. CUSE on 3/9 at 12 noon, and then VT v. UM on 3/10 at 12 pm.
Hope that helps clarify things.
