Hmmmm ... so much for my limited target range shooting and desire to know
how to safely handle a gun if ever needed. I also seem to enjoy the aesthetics and feel of my small group of unloaded handgun designs. The same with my German and British airguns. I do not hunt, but enjoy fishing and bird watching. I also like my coin collections and their history, heft and artistic images. My wife always asks me how many books, hats or pairs of shoes do I need. Thus, I do not accept the narrow view that guns sole purpose is to kill. In my case I would hope that just the notice I have guns, or that they can be seen in a hopefully unlikely perpetrator confrontation, that this may serve as a specialized deterrence (scare them away). If deadly force needed, so be it, but shooting not to kill, but eliminate fear for life threat , this would be preferred if presence of mind allows. My situation only.
