I think Herman was just too much of a flight risk
I 100% believe he could have been a one and done here (or in other places) if the Texas job is available in 2017. They'd laugh off the buyout even faster than the LSU fools did when they were flirting with firing Miles.
The fact that he stayed at Houston at all means he's got his eye on the big time, and it's hard to blame him. The pressure on Strong must be unbelievable, and he's apparently not screwing around judging by the signing day Texas just had.
