Agree that there will never be a level playing field.....

the 4-5 star kids are going to the power programs in greater numbers than other places yes......but if there are 5 fewer 4 star kids able to get into the twenty or so power programs....that means there are 100 very good athletes looking for a home elsewhere.

as to opportunities......would that be sports related opportunity or educational opportunity?.....I would be fine with putting more focus on the educational importance of these young people, and a little less on the bottom line of the institutions that are using their talents. Tightening up on admission standards would pare the numbers down more than enough, allowing those with outstanding athletic ability all the opportunities in the world.

I am also a realist, I know money drives the train, and that the money-power conferences want nothing to do with the concept of improving these young people's educational experience.
