Atlantic is not the exclusive property of the ACC. Most SEC schools have the staff to pursue athletes wherever and the notoriety to attract them from anywhere. So if they are "spending too much time in the mid Atlantic" it's because they see potential in athletes there. And it is more likely that the student may say yes based on the relatively short distance compare to say an athlete coming from Washington
