I think that is usually true, but might not be this year

With so many fewer games played by so many teams, I think the extra 1-4 games from conference tournaments will absolutely make a difference. Especially when those might be games between teams meeting for the first time this season (e.g. VT vs UNC/FSU). If VT beats UNC and FSU, I would bet that makes a big difference in NCAA seed, at least for this year.
