Lack of home team bias here is the inverse of what your last paragraph

states for this game. The announcers weren't on campus and haven't seen Virginia Tech play basketball in over 2 weeks. They've seen GT and they had much more to talk about with them. Think about it, what were those guys going to talk about with VT that's extra to the broadcast?

I get tired of people bashing broadcast teams for 'bias' too often. If you want to hear the hometeam broadcast, listen to Jon and Mike. If you want to listen to how VT is perceived in a more national setting, listen to the TV broadcast. The only team that should've been pulled on the spot was Mark Jones and his sidekick during that Miami game a couple years ago.

Nationally, VT is an afterthought right now. Especially without playing for 17 days. I caught Joe Lunardi on SVP's Sportscenter a couple days ago. They were talking ACC, specifically Duke after beating UVA, making the tournament. He listed out the top teams in the ACC to make it...Virginia, FSU...Clemson. That was it.

I do think you make an interesting point about not criticizing college players. I think of listening to Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson talking during an NBA game. They will point out flaws and what a guys needs to do better in a heartbeat. You don't get much from most college guys. Dan Dakich, Jay Bilas are two that will point out what they see, regardless of positivity/negativity.
