Odd stat, in conference play our opponents are hitting 78% of their FTs

Only 2 teams in the league shoot a better overall % from the line than that, UVA and Syracuse. We give up the highest FT in the conference and it's not really close.

If you're curious about how that's impacted our games (conference numbers only):

- Miami averages 67%, but vs VT made 30 FTs at an 83% clip over two games.

- Pitt shoots 70% but made 22 FTs at 88% vs VT

- Clemson shoots 75% but made 86% vs VT

- Louisville beat their avg by 5% on 20 attempts

The only team we've played that shot under their average was Wake (and the 2nd ND game). UVA did as well but they only took 4 FTs so that doesn't really count.

If it feels like our games have been closer than they should have, this is a major reason why and it's not something that we can really fix other than not fouling. In our last 2 games opponents are 44 of 51 from the line which is an absurd 86% and better than any individual on the VT squad except Bam. Had teams shot their average vs us we likely go to OT vs Louisville, Pitt never opens that lead, and Miami never gets close.
