That I used to schedule my holiday vacation around the bowl schedule so as not to miss a single game with an ACC team or otherwise compelling matchup. I noticed a couple years ago that I’d lost interest - didn’t even print a copy of the bowl schedule to peruse with my morning coffee. Also stoped purchasing the preseason magazines that would get me through the summer. This year, I actually forgot that the national championship game was on and completely missed the game - didn’t care when I saw the results on Tuesday AM. Maybe it’s the natural life cycle - my son is now in HS playing multiple sports and my daughter is a sophomore at Tech, but I just don’t care about college football and I think it’s the futility of the current system. Same 3 or 4 teams each year and lost national attention on conference rivalries and bowl significance.
