so that we had enough to scrimmage. I was a regular corp member fall quarter, then Moose got the 4 walk ons transferred to H company. No room in Campbell Hall, so we had to move to town.
I didn't go back on campus until my junior year. Must have had at least 80% of my meals while at Tech at the College Inn. After that 1 quarter at Owens, I still won't eat chicken.
I talked Bobby Joe Quesenberry into going to the tryouts with me. I lasted the 1 year, he became a starting guard.
I saw the Tech HOF members on one of the special Hokie birds. I had the privilege of playing or scrimmaging with 5 of them. Chris, Ayersman, Mills, Keller, & Leland Malear (HOF as baseball pitcher).
They were some great years.
And the best part, living in town I got to know quite a few of the locals, Met and married a beautiful girl from McCoy. Been a great 56 years together.
