The disparity is one problem. Fuente and his staff and the state of our

program are the second problem.

This past weekend, with the Washington team playing in the playoffs, I realized something: I haven't cared about that football team in years. Years ago, I was a Redskins fan and I watched every sunday. Starting during the second coming of Gibbs, I got tired of it. Its amazing - I literally don't care about the team at all. Not the slightest care about it. When they couldn't find a way to win and were paying Deion and Fat Albert, I remember thinking that I was on my way to moving on, but I never could quite bring myself to do it. That was "many" years ago now.

I'm realizing that I'm close to that with Vt. If our team was winning games and competing and getting better players, I may care more. But as it stands now, I barely watched the UVA game and certainly didn't care that they won, and almost wish they could have tied so Fuente could have been fired. If Fuente doesn't turn it around next year, in about 12 years, I may surprise myself by realizing how long its been since I last cared about our school's team.

Last night did confirm that the top teams are in a different world and stratosphere. We don't have the players or the physicality. And we won't get there again, IMO.
