That's a leap to say it's because of bad coaching
It could also mean the players are tired of not being able to see their families etc. Also a sub par bowl in a losing season w family possibly not able to attend bowl game makes a big influence. Not to mention bowls are supposed to be somewhat of a reward and fun trip. It's hard to have a fun trip when everything is shutdown because of covid.
I think it's quite a leap to associate bad coaching, work ethic, etc w not playing in a bowl. If that's the case I guess the other college football teams, including the acc football teams that turned down a bowl, all have terrible coaching and bad work ethic.
Sounds like you are just upset you do not get to watch another game and brag to your friends about a bowl streak.
