When I heard that line from Mrs. Fuente, I thought it was pretty damn cool! I thought...this is gonna be fun!

Justin Fuente said he wanted to be at Virginia Tech. He said he told his agent it was the only job opportunity he would entertain. Maybe the wins Jenny envisioned haven't accumulated yet, but I suspect there's still some goodwill remaining for a guy who was all in on VT back in 2015. Particularly when he's willing to try to follow the guy who built the program. I doubt it's easy to find coaches who genuinely want to be in Blacksburg, so when you find one who appears to be fully committed, you give him a longer leash than most. I like Coach Fuente. Have from the very start, and I'll be hoping for big success in 2021.

Having said all that, I think he's in a very difficult position heading into next season, but no more so than year one following a guy named "Beamer." But these are reasons I think he is being retained.
