Patience....
Tech's ship was sinking several years before Beamer retired. Also, Beamer didn't get it turned around till his 7th season either. COVID, players opt/out and change in Defensive Coordinator and defensive philosophy were setbacks this year. Offense on the other hand was a bright spot with a average of 31 points per game average. Pretty certain it's been a while since tech hit the offensive numbers they did this year. If the offense continues this production trend and the defense gets to a improved playing level then most likely would be a 8+ win team moving forward.
Certainly, there are some issues with consistency and coaching game time decisions to be improved upon, but firing Fuente and restarting with a new coach and staff would most likely welcome long term sub medicore teams moving forward. I'm not for for firing Fuente, yet. I think next two seasons will be the telling of where he can or cannot take this team.
He gets a pass this year in my book. 3 of our loses could have easily gone the other way. Its a matter of limiting mistakes and learning how to close again.
