I don't think fans really understand the emotional drain of a normal season


much less what we just went through. Try as they may they were just too emotionally drained to get up for Pitt. Pitt on the other hand had a break and were much fresher. That has its plusses and minuses as well though.

Then that week off seemed to recharge everything. We were a different team by the eyeball test against Clemson and UVA.

No one can ever predict when that "hit the wall" game occurs. It can occur several times per season

And BTW if you think back to our BB team that beat Duke and Dick Vitale proclaimed we were in the big dance and we go out and lose the next 2 to teams we should have beaten. We put so much of what we had into that one game, we had nothing left to come back with. We were emotionally exhausted then and most but not all of our mid to later season "bad" losses have that emotional exhaustion as a factor. So does a lot of teams.
