When you're severely outmatched, you win the game by keeping it close.

This isn't rocket science people. In a game where the other team is WAY more talented, the larger the sample size of possessions, the greater their superiority will be realized. By slowing the game down, you reduce the number of possessions by each team, and can, potentially be within one-score late in the game. THAT'S A STRATEGY TO WIN THE GAME.

We see this all the time in basketball as well. Teams that are less athletic don't try to up the pace of play. They try to slow it down, limit the possessions, use the whole shot clock, etc. Not playing a style of play that's to the other team's advantage isn't conceding, it's playing the way that gives you the best chance to win.

I honestly can't believe people think we should've employed any other strategy.
