... the program was not in collapse. It was the last year of the probation affect for the team. Most of the losses came late in the game(s) and we had mostly the same players we had the next year. Team didn't know how to win and some of the assistant coaches were suspect. Braine had a heart to heart with Frank and a few assistants were replaced, most notably with Elmo. Assistants were also signed to 2 year contracts to help in hiring new guys. It was a cooperative effort by Braine, Beamer and the Administration to iron out the major program glitches. IMHO Dave Braine deserves a statue for this accomplishment alone.

Also, IMHO, none of these steps would fix the dumpster fire we have today. In 1992 the program was evolving, today it's just destroyed.
