What if VT’s ability to score without a short field


is actually better than average across FBS?

What if the defense’s inability to create a short field is correlated with the defense giving up a lot of points? Maybe that contributes to the different winning percentage.

I’m not sure your analysis is quite the indictment of the offense you conclude it is.
