Agree with this... and not tryin to be a cranky old guy but...

There is a different feel to the overall support for this program across all lines too not just students. When I first joined HokieCentral in the mid 90's, we were a program that had not had much success and made do with what we had. Remember the meltdown when Yubrenall Isabell rejected us at the last minute?.... nobody was screaming about coach Beamer failing to land him. Had we lost to Liberty then, there would not have been the cries (almost universally) to declare Beamer's time was over. We would have been obsessing over the officials stealing yet another game from us with the blown call at the end of the first half. I'm not saying it is what we should be doing now, just that the focus and mood of this board has changed a lot since we became accustomed to winning. It is not as fun and as joyful a place to visit as a member as it used to be. I guess that is why I have stopped posting for much of the last ten years. Life is frustrating and stressful enough without inviting it into my escapes as well. Again, not trying to cast aspersions on other peoples opinions but your post Tom made me reflect on why my involvement on this site has dropped a lot since it first started. I still watch all the games and try to make it up to the burg at least once a year for a game (except this year obviously) but my search for Hokie related news and exchange has found other avenues as I get enough bitching and complaining in real life and don't need to look for it on the interweb....
