Be favored by Vegas, and combined with the feeling of entitlement by most young people these days, I think this leads to complacency. Hokies were big favorites over Wake and Liberty and did not show up mentally until they were well down on the scoreboard. They were being picked in some quarters to beat #5 UNC, and VT was down 3 TD's before I was settled into my seat!! We are even slight favitites over #9 da U!!

We have seen this over and over going back into the Beamer days. I used to joke that Bud had to give up an early TD to get settled in and start doing his adjustments magic, but we do not have Bud anymore. Just happy I no longer live in VA, as I can still remember the embarrassment that we Hokies have to endure from friends and work mates that relish VT going down VS a perceived weak opponent.

Fortunately for me, hardly any fans/alums of JMU, ODU, Dook, Wake, or Liberty actually live and work in NC!! And even UNC and UVA fans are rare on the SE NC coast!! Far more Hokie and Buckeye fans in my coastal retirement neighborhood than all others combined!!
