Don't forget the muffed punt.
Liberty had a great game plan to limit the number of possession in the game. I think they were concerned about our offense and about getting worn down defensively if we were able to run 85+ plays on offense. So they slowed the game down, were very efficient, and scored with us.
We finally got a stop and forced a punt -- which could've and should've been an opportunity for us. Instead, we gave them the possession right back on our doorstep. That muffed punt was an absolute disaster.
The scoop and score that was whistled dead probably cost us 4 points as well. But to your point, the offense was the least of our problems in that game. We scored 35 in a game with limited number of possessions -- that should've been plenty.
