VT passed up on a kid at Liberty who may be an All American

For those folks close to the central Va area and follow High School Football, the kid from Appomattox who led them to 3 straight state titles named Javon Scruggs was not recruited by Tech. He was the 2A Virginia Defensive POY his senior year and just a do everything freak High School football player. He grew up a Tech fan also. Anyway, I'm not going to get into the debate on why we should have or shouldn't have recruited him. All I'm saying is that he's turned out to be one of the two best players on their team and the best player on their defense and the captain of their defense at strong safety and the kid is likely to end up on at least one All American team at season's end. He's also recently projected at mid second to early third round right now. He's a junior. When we play them, trust me, you will see and hear his name many times. In my opinion, there are just some kids that have that it factor in High School and you know they can play at the next level at a High Level. Liberty and Marshall were the only two to offer this kid. Well, Liberty struck gold. This kid would truly help our secondary right now if he were at Tech. The kid can flat out play and is one of the kids like Cam Chancellor out of High School who just kept getting better and better with each practice, each day, before they became Sunday footballers. Scruggs will play on Sundays for sure.
