True. He’s onto something though.


Fuente was never gonna perform at beamer’s level, but VaTech isn’t an impossible job because they expectations of fans are relatively low. Fuente is a likable guy who fits the culture.

Despite all this, Fu seems to have lost the fan base, patience has clearly worn thin. The intensity of the reaction to the wake L is surprising to me, but it appears folks are done. Most of his trend lines are moving in the wrong direction, most alarmingly recruiting. Writing is on the wall.

I figure VaTech gives him another two years and the fans are pretty easy on him leading up to an amicable buyout.

I don’t see this going high pressure sec/B10 where he is harassed out of town. I think anger will build when he breaks the bowl streak, but it won’t be too harsh.

Next coach better be a master rebuilder who can recruit. It seems like he’ll be picking up an empty cupboard.
