Since someone posted about Fuente's recruiting record before/after

his tenures, I decided to actually look and post some numbers.
VT with Fuente
2021 - 41 so far and we are almost full
2020 - 76
2019 - 26
2018 - 24
2017 - 26
2016 - 42 (with Jerod Evans)
AVERAGE = 39.2

VT the 6 years before Fuente
2015 - 29
2014 - 28
2013 - 21
2012 - 21
2011 - 35
2010 - 28
AVERAGE = 27

Now for Memphis the 4 years BEFORE Fuente
2011 - 77
2010 - 71
2009 - 88
2008 - 65
AVERAGE = 75.2

Memphis with Fuente for 4 years
2015 - 77
2014 - 78
2013 - 90
2012 - 92
AVERAGE = 84.2

Memphis the 4 years AFTER Fuente
2019 - 67
2018 - 81
2017 - 56
2016 - 61
AVERAGE = 66.25

All Memphis recruiting before/after Fuente = 70.7 vs. all recruiting with Fuente = 84.2. Margin at Memphis was 13.5 ranking points worse recruiter than those who came before/after him. Coincidentally this is VERY close to the ranking difference for Fuente at VT for 6 years vs. his predecessor at 12.2 rank points worse.

Fuente is clearly a worse recruiter everywhere he goes, as you can tell by the numbers. I've said it before, an introvert should never be a head coach, especially if you want to recruit well. Watch Mack Brown at any of his press conferences; the guy just exudes confidence and is able to connect with his players and recruit. Every time I listen to Fuente, I get ready for a whine session interspersed with temper tantrums and insensitive comments (ie Transfer Portal comments). The recruits see this and are turned off.
